The Master Christmas List

The Master Christmas List

I'm just thinking about how we go crazy buying one another gifts for Jesus' birthday and I'm wondering - what are you giving Jesus for His birthday? This year, take advantage of the opportunity to give Him a present?

What's on His list you ask? Here are the top 10 items on His Christmas list:
  1. Your heart
  2. Your talents
  3. Your time
  4. Your effort
  5. Your service
  6. Your praise
  7. Your worship
  8. Your faith
  9. Your obedience
  10. He wants you!
But, understand - we can never beat Him giving. Even on His birthday, He is a better giver than we are. I challenge you today to remember, Jesus is the reason for the season. What are you going to give Him for His birthday this year?

Pictures from the Christmas Party

We decorated Christmas cookies, played carnival games, painted decorations, got our faces painted, ate some snacks, redeemed tickets for prizes and played family games! Some just enjoyed watching :-)

As you view the pictures of the Christmas celebration held for the children, take time to thank our wonderful volunteers. Many gave their time during a week of final exams! They were a wonderful group to work with and made the time enjoyable for all. At times I didn't know who had more fun, the children on the adults. Thank God for fellowship and generosity at VLife!

Highlights from Connect Christmas Party

We had a great time at the Connect Christmas Party last night. It's nice to get together and just have pure fun. My highlights of the night were playing Min. Darius' game and getting mega tickets (I ended up with around 215 tickets and a lot of fun prizes). In addition, it would have to be the cakewalk - it came down to Langston and I. After destroying the children we prevailed as the last two standing and had a tough fight to the finish - I was the last person sitting - which (in this homemade, manipulative version of the game out of the mind of Sis. Theresa) actually made me the loser. But, that's okay - he who endures to the end shall be saved. All of the first eliminated received a prize and a cupcake, but I kept my dignity. lol

Tell me - what was the highlight of the Christmas party for you?

Testify

Revelation 12:10-11 (NIV) 10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. 11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony;

Connect was a great experience last night. We learned about the purpose of testimonies and then we shared testimonies. As Overcomers, we understand that one of our tools to overcoming is the word of our testimony. As I listened to the various testimonies, I was overwhelmed with how God has brought so many through so much and strategically aligned us and called us together to be a body of believers by the name of Victory Life Christian Ministries!

People have been released from bondages of prison, of abuse, of fear, of loneliness, of sin, of sickness, of mindsets and have risen up to progress and be who God has called them to be. In that session last night, I gained further insight and understanding as to why God didn't allow me to call the people at Victory Life members - we're more than that - we are Overcomers!

Now, I challenge you - share your testimony - but, even more than that - be a testimony. Prove the truth of God; declare His goodness; be evidence of His existence; be the glory of God - be an Overcomer! In short - TESTIFY!

Service 100

This Sunday will be our 100th Sunday service. It's amazing to me how quickly time flies. It has been a great ride! God has blessed me to pastor a phenomenal group of individuals who have grown 2gether into a wonderful family of brothers and sisters. Now, we are quickly approaching the end of the 2nd year and I am excited about what is ahead. We're preparing for our two year anniversary celebration which will be entitled Affirm 2011.

I'm excited about 2011 - it's a year when God will Affirm the ministry and the Overcomers. To Affirm is to further confirm His plan - to further establish us - to strengthen us - to release new facts to us - to show the world that we're the truth - to say yes to - to show agreement - to verify - to answer positively - to support - to encourage! Whew - I'm getting excited just thinking about this. I don't know if you all are ready for what God is about to do...

But, here we are still in 2010 - in the season of Growth. The Growth is not over yet - He's still growing us, maturing us, taking us higher, making us stronger. We've got one last month - ready, set, let's grow!

Images From A Sunday At Victory Life Christian Ministries

Here are images I shot that I wanted to share from our special Sunday (Nov. 28) service at Victory Life Christian Ministries in Big Rapids, Michigan.

Sunday was home to yet another powerful service led by Pastor Razel Jones at Victory Life over the weekend as the message was "Promote Me" for Overcomers.

Review Psalm 75: 1-10 for your Bible scripture.

With that now said, check out the latest images of V-Life:

Lady C had a vacation day, but Sister Tracey and Sister Brittney were on point with awesome vocals during Sunday's service at Victory Life.

Glory to Glory!

Yesterday's service was a special time for me. The glory of the Lord came in the room in an amazing way. I didn't want to leave it! So, I took it with me.

It was amazing what was happening - I believe it started with a dynamic time of praise and worship - we gave Him glory! The message was about thankfulness and gratitude. When we think - we thank! Then, we brought the message alive together as we joined together to give a thanks offering to God for the great things He has done. We continued to give Him glory to the point that He gave us HIS glory! Then, we continued the process by releasing even more glory back to Him - and, what was the response - thicker, deeper, heavier glory released from Him upon us and into us.

Now, as the week continues, it is our job to allow the glory (light, beauty, splendor) that He deposited into us to manifest in our daily lives. Let His light shine through us so that people are drawn to Him! Maybe, this is how He takes us from Glory to Glory!

So, my prayer continues as the Sunday song stated, "Let your glory fall on us - Rain, Rain, Rain, Rain!" Now, let's Rise and Go!

Everything is Spiritual

We had such a great time in Connect last night as we went deeper into the series entitled "Everything is Spiritual." We began our study by observing simple objects in the room such as, keys, pens and pencils, and even cell phones and shared insight on how those items were spiritual or a representation of something spiritual. Let's take the cell phone. A cell phone allows you to hear someone that you cannot see! How about the keys. Keys give you access or authority over places that you otherwise may not be allowed. With a pencil, I could draw a picture which gives others a visual of my thoughts! Let's play a game. Name an item around you and tell me how it can be spiritual.

Seeing your growth

As a pastor, I must say that the past two weeks have been amazing to me, as we have witnessed some firsts in our midst. It has been amazing to see the abilities of Overcomers manifest in our midst. Last Sunday, Bro. Cedric surprised many of you as he demonstrated his talent with spoken word as Sis. Tracey showcased her vocal abilities... This Sunday, Minister Darius demonstrated his ability to deliver the Word of God with accuracy and power, full of charisma and thought-provoking insights. God has strategically planted gifts in our midst for His glory. I have seen several of you demonstrate abilities in many areas including, finance/bookkeeping, music, working with children, event planning, food preparation, hospitality and greeting, teaching, running sound, handling technology, putting things together, praying, believing, and so much more. It is amazing to sit back and watch your growth as individuals and our growth as a church. This year has certainly been an exciting season of growth in our personal lives and as a group. I'm excited about how we have grown together as a church family. My questions for you today are these: 1. What skills do you have that we're sleeping on? 2. What are you waiting for to use them?

It was all for my good!

Wow, what a dynamic, relevant Word from God ministered by Min. Darius Ganzie yesterday at Victory Life! It was all for my good. I got so many things from the message. I liked the statement "what I gained was better than what I lost!" I can testify to that. Name something you gained that was better than something you lost.

In the beginning...

What a wonderful time we shared at Connect this week learning about the creation, and most importantly, the Creator! Where do I begin? How about in the beginning, starting with the creation. God begins to speak words (Jesus/the Word) and things that were not there before suddenly appear! He continues this for six days, and every time He made something, He turned around and complemented Himself, saying that what He'd made was good. Then He really outdid Himself when He made man, male and female. I could just imagine God like "watch this, watch this" BAM!!! The Spirit and Jesus were probably like "Aww they look just like us!" Then God, looking at what he had just created gives Himself props again like "Whoa, this is very good" (JRV-Jessica Robinson Version). There was so much we learned, this is just a little bit. Tell me, what part was your favorite, and why?

November in Connect

We had a great beginning to our November Connect sessions.

Some Overcomers chose to watch the DVD entitled, "Everything is Spiritual". Join their discussion of the content over the upcoming weeks of November.

Other Overcomers chose to learn to knit. In this class we are on a mission. We want to complete our scarf projects to give to those in need during the holidays.

Young Overcomers learned that we learn from the Bible.

It's not to late to join us. We have something for everyone!

Anything is Possible

To believe that anything is possible, one must first reject the idea of limitations. This past Sunday we observed a story of a man who asked Jesus to help his unbelief! The man was beginning to realize that the very thing he always wanted was never a possibility to him because he did not believe. He now wanted God to help him to believe that the impossible was possible. God is telling us to transform our way of thinking from the carnal realm, governed by fear, doubt, and limitations to the spiritual realm which is governed by faith and belief. If we do this we will begin to demonstrate or act out His good, acceptable, and perfect will. So when we partner with Christ, a whole new world of opportunities becomes available to us! This is why Jesus said "with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." (Matt. 19:26) Belief activates possibilities! What do you believe God will make possible for you? As for me, Everything!

Concluding and Starting Anew 2010

As we approach the last day of October, I am happy and sad. It will conclude our month-long celebration - Anew 2010. We have had a tremendous time this month. Lady C, Presence and the V-Life band have been at another level; it has been an honor to have Bro. Robert Pace playing lead guitar with us this month. We have been blessed by many amazing guests: Michael Essex & Vision, Nate Glasper and ILive2Praize, Pastor Robert Smith, Jr., Pastor Drew Beresford, and Pastor Tarence Lauchie. There's one more Sunday in the month and we will be joined by Steve Robertson as our special musical guest tomorrow and I will conclude the series. While I'm a little sad that the month is almost over, I'm extremely excited about the word and the experiences that we have experienced this month. It feels like a sort of commencement, which feels like the end, but is really the beginning. The month has been a time of preparation for what's next - for the season we have entered. Now it is our challenge to walk into the season with boldness and to continue to allow God to make all things new - now, we have entered the new opportunities, the new vision, the new favor, the new level, the new dimension. It is not a conclusion - this is just the beginning! Welcome to the New! After this experience, we will never be the same!
