Concluding and Starting Anew 2010

As we approach the last day of October, I am happy and sad. It will conclude our month-long celebration - Anew 2010. We have had a tremendous time this month. Lady C, Presence and the V-Life band have been at another level; it has been an honor to have Bro. Robert Pace playing lead guitar with us this month. We have been blessed by many amazing guests: Michael Essex & Vision, Nate Glasper and ILive2Praize, Pastor Robert Smith, Jr., Pastor Drew Beresford, and Pastor Tarence Lauchie. There's one more Sunday in the month and we will be joined by Steve Robertson as our special musical guest tomorrow and I will conclude the series. While I'm a little sad that the month is almost over, I'm extremely excited about the word and the experiences that we have experienced this month. It feels like a sort of commencement, which feels like the end, but is really the beginning. The month has been a time of preparation for what's next - for the season we have entered. Now it is our challenge to walk into the season with boldness and to continue to allow God to make all things new - now, we have entered the new opportunities, the new vision, the new favor, the new level, the new dimension. It is not a conclusion - this is just the beginning! Welcome to the New! After this experience, we will never be the same!

When God Confirms...

I enjoyed service today - every aspect of it - praise and worship was amazing - something got into Lady C, Presence and the band today - you all are big time... But, my favorite part of service was when Pastor Drew said the same thing that Pastor Robert preached last week. Pastor Robert preached of the 3 Hebrew Boys - a sermon entitled, "The Fire is Your Friend." Pastor Drew made the same points using the same 3 Hebrew Boys as he declared, "the fire is working for you instead of against you."

When God confirms His word that clearly, it is evident that there is a message He is trying to get across to us. This one is that the situation we're in may feel like we're in fire and it may be uncomfortable and seem like too much to bear, but the reality is, God has a plan for you in the situation you're in. It's important, as I preached several weeks ago, for you to stay in the process - and allow God to work out what He's trying to work out. He's making us better, wiser, stronger.

I want to encourage you today to hold on to this word - to endure the process and to let God mold you and make you into the individual He would have you to be. Let the fire work; let the process work; let God work!

Youth Connect

We had such fun in Youth Connect this week. We started off with a hilarious game of "Ha!" You'll have to join us to find out how to play and enjoy this game with us. We then cut up bananas and tried to put them back together with tape, staples, glue, etc. It didn't work! We discussed how we need to think about the consequences of our actions/decisions before we act because we can't fix our mistakes once they are made. But never despair, we learned that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23 NIV). We also learned that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23 NIV). Thank God for the hope that He gives us. These scriptures are our basis for our lessons in October. We'll earn more prizes by memorizing and reciting these this month. We ended our session playing Bible Blink and Uno and enjoyed pizza and pop delivered by Pizza Hut! Come join us on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the Life Suite!

Credit, Debt, and Loans

Yesterday, we had Connect with Bro. Bobby Fisher from Lake Osceola State Bank. The title of the talk was Borrowing From the Ultimate Lender. We are blessed to have him with us every Wednesday in the month of October talking about Credit, Debt and Loans in Part 2 of The Path to Financial Freedom. We have been looking at these financial matters from a natural and a spiritual perspective - it has been an eye opening, thought provoking experience and we're only through week one!
Prov 22:7 (New International Version) ⁷ The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.

My key take-away from yesterday was that God has lent us everything we have, so we are all automatically indebted to Him - we are automatically set up in a position to be His servants. The joy comes when we learn to willingly serve Him as He graciously blesses and provides for us. Everyday, He continues to loan us breath, life, talents, time, and every good and perfect gift - He has given us life, so we are forever indebted to give Him life back!

Deuteronomy 28:12 (King James Version)¹²The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

When we come to accept the terms and realize that all we have comes from Him, He in turn transforms us into His image and converts us to lenders and no longer borrowers! We remain indebted, but thank God - those of us who have accepted Him are in the process of paying Him back and we walk in the image of our creator as lenders. He blesses who He trusts!

ANEW '10 is underway! We had a great start to the month's activities this past Sunday. God showed up and showed out in V-Life. Please understand, this is just the beginning. I do not have the words to prepare you for the experience we are about to have this weekend as we are joined by Michael Essex & Vision, Nate Glasper & ILive2Praize and the dynamic Pastor Robert Smith, Jr. from Columbus, Georgia... and, that's just Saturday. Sunday is 10/10/10! Get ready for your harvest, your victory, your fresh start. 10, the number where numeration begins ANEW on another level, in another dimension will be in full affect. We will be joined by Cat Landrum, Robert Pace and again will receive a revelatory Word from Pastor Smith, Jr. On this day we will also celebrate our 2010 capital campaign and be a part of Extreme Praise, Intimate Worship, and a Life-Changing Word! If you are going to make it to any service we have this year, this needs to be the one. Welcome to the New - ANEW '10!

Enter the 10

Today is the first day of the 10th month of 2010. 10 has such significance biblically and spiritually. Our focus this month is on how 10 is the number where numeration begins ANEW on another level and in another dimension. We are expecting as a church, as families, and as individuals to begin ANEW on another level and in another dimension during this dynamic month of ministry. I challenge you today to enter your season - start anew - go to the next level - enter the next dimension - enter the 10!
