Connect is back!

Last night we gathered together for Connect at 7:00 p.m. It was the first time in a couple months that we had Connect due to our 10 month Connect schedule and we were ready! Sister Jessica and team put together great offerings for adults, youth and children all focused on the subject of Love. Sister Vanessa taught the adult class about the Greek meanings of 'love' and how Christ is looking for us to give this love to Him and to our brothers and sisters! I have such a great time hearing the insights of the Overcomers and friends of the ministry who attend Connect. We have some great minds in our midst. From the profound, instigating insights of Dad Jones to the sincere reflections of brand new Overcomers, Connect provides us with an opportunity to hear multiple voices and to learn and to grow from whatever stage we're at in our spiritual development journey. It was a great start to February and phase 2 of the blessings, glory and favor of 2012 at Victory Life! I'm looking forward to diving deeper into the Word at Connect, every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. from February to November! Sunday was home to yet another powerful service that kicked off Affirm 2011 and featured Prophetess Doriane Parker from Kingdom Life Ministries in Grand Rapids. Sunday's service was nothing short of amazing. And, best of all, it was just the start of Affirm 2011.

Testify

Revelation 12:10-11 (NIV) ¹⁰ Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. ¹¹ They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony;

Connect was a great experience last night. We learned about the purpose of testimonies and then we shared testimonies. As Overcomers, we understand that one of our tools to overcoming is the word of our testimony. As I listened to the various testimonies, I was overwhelmed with how God has brought so many through so much and strategically aligned us and called us together to be a body of believers by the name of Victory Life Christian Ministries!

People have been released from bondages of prison, of abuse, of fear, of loneliness, of sin, of sickness, of mindsets and have risen up to progress and be who God has called them to be. In that session last night, I gained further insight and understanding as to why God didn't allow me to call the people at Victory Life members - we're more than that - we are Overcomers!

Now, I challenge you - share your testimony - but, even more than that - be a testimony. Prove the truth of God; declare His goodness; be evidence of His existence; be the glory of God - be an Overcomer! In short - TESTIFY!

Service 100

This Sunday will be our 100th Sunday service. It's amazing to me how quickly time flies. It has been a great ride! God has blessed me to pastor a phenomenal group of individuals who have grown 2gether into a wonderful family of brothers and sisters. Now, we are quickly approaching the end of the 2nd year and I am excited about what is ahead. We're preparing for our two year anniversary celebration which will be entitled Affirm 2011.

I'm excited about 2011 - it's a year when God will Affirm the ministry and the Overcomers. To Affirm is to further confirm His plan - to further establish us - to strengthen us - to release new facts to us - to show the world that we're the truth - to say yes to - to show agreement - to verify - to answer positively - to support - to encourage! Whew - I'm getting excited just thinking about this. I don't know if you all are ready for what God is about to do...

But, here we are still in 2010 - in the season of Growth. The Growth is not over yet - He's still growing us, maturing us, taking us higher, making us stronger. We've got one last month - ready, set, let's grow!

Can't Come Down - Cannot Quit!

This weekend was a busy weekend. We had Presence/Band rehearsal on Saturday for several hours, took care of a lot of items at, and for, the church, had a great service on Sunday afternoon where we determined that we "Can't Stop, Can't Pause, Can't Wait, Can't Slip - I Can't Come Down - I Cannot Quit!"

Then, several of us traveled to Grand Rapids to Greater Works Ministries to celebrate 2 years of ministry for this wonderful church under the leadership of Pastor Drew and Lady Chantal. There, Presence and the Band ministered in song and I had the opportunity to share the Word of God with those in attendance.

It was a busy weekend - a purposeful weekend. I'm quite thankful to Presence, the Band and those who traveled along with us to support, to serve and to partake in what God was doing. It feels good to be supported - it feels even better to know that so many of the Overcomers at V-Life are using your talents, your abilities, and even your positive attitudes to serve God.

You all were like many energizer bunnies this weekend - kept going and going and going and going... You became the word with your energy - with your efforts - with your determination. I saw you display the word - "Can't Stop, Can't Pause, Can't Wait, Can't Slip - I Can't Come Down - I Cannot Quit!" Continue to be doers of the word - stay focused on the work God has called you to - never come down - never quit!
